This is a bright new color that is especially exciting to the Dear Olympia team because we live on Oahu! We actually live in Pearl City near Pearl Harbor but Kailua is only a short drive away. We love driving up to Kaneohe Bay (shout out to all of our Marine family customers on MCBH)! I’m glad we live by Pearl Harbor because our commutes to work aren’t too bad but Kailua is really more tropical, more breezy and seems more like Hawaii. I’ve promoted Kandace to Kiosk Manager and while I’m still working at the kiosk Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, I am excited to have some more time to get back into blogging again.
Want to know a secret?
I really love video tutorials but have been too scared to really get into them because:
Well, guess what? I’m done making excuses! I’m launching into making video tutorials head first! Some aspects of painting really are better explained by seeing someone else do it. Plus they are fun to make.
That said, this is my first video so please ignore that my head is *nearly* cut off during the entire first half. Or just laugh really loud and relieve some stress. It’s all good.
I’m getting there, my friends!
Oh and here is the final table:
Today I'm featuring a thrift store chest of drawers that my sister-in-law and I found. I thought I'd have to paint the whole thing because of damage to the veneer. But alas, while sanding some goop off of the top, I realized that the veneer underneath was perfectly fine and sanded the whole thing. I decided to stain the top in Cappuccino Stain Oil, the perfect rich brown.
All of the furniture pieces with the exception of the industrial shelving unit are used pieces that I've re-homed and painted with Fusion Mineral Paint.
