Ordering, Shipping and Returns

What do you use to run your online store and ship orders?

We run our store via Shopify!!  Shopify makes it easy to open an online store by providing all the tools and help you need. Click here to try it for free.  Check out this blog post for my top five small business productivity tools (Shopify is #1).

Do you take orders by email or over the phone?

Yes, I do take phone orders and phone customers will receive an email confirmation once their credit/debit card info is processed over the phone.  If you are paying by check, I won't ship until I receive the check and it clears.  If you are paying over the phone, please call 480-261-6211 and we will place your order over the phone via credit card.  I have even had people text me orders.  We will send you an email receipt for your transaction and get your items in the mail quickly. 

What types of payment do you accept? 

Our online payments are processed directly through Shopify.  This method is a safe way to pay online that enable you to pay without the seller (me) ever seeing your bank account or credit card numbers.  Payments are processed securely using industry standard encryption, which means no one will be able to see your banking data.  We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express cards, as well as Dear Olympia gift cards and Paypal.

What is your domestic shipping policy?

We offer next business day shipping for orders to the U.S., including APO/FPO addresses.  So if you place your order on Monday, it will ship out Tuesday.  If you place your order on a Friday, it will ship out on Saturday.  If you place your order on Saturday or Sunday, it will ship out on Monday.  We use USPS Priority shipping which includes:

  • Delivery within 3-5 days for U.S. deliveries, and 6-10 days to the destination country for international shipments.
  • USPS Tracking.  When your order is shipped, I will send you an email with your tracking number so you can track the package.
  • Saturday delivery.

For residents of the Northwest US and select military locations in the Pacific region, we offer USPS Regional Flat Rate shipping instead, which is about half the cost of regular USPS Flat Rate.  For most orders this will cost less than $6, and orders will typically arrive the day after shipping.

Do you offer expedited shipping (such as overnight shipping)?

We now offer Flat Rate Express shipping through USPS to customers in the US, which takes 1-2 days as opposed to 3-5 days with regular USPS Flat Rate.  Simply select the option from the dropdown menu when placing your order.  I am willing to offer expedited shipping on a case-by-case basis.  If you need an order overnighted, email me at Taylor@DearOlympia.com and I will try to work with you to get your order shipped overnight.

How much will shipping be?

Shipping is solely based on the size of items purchased, roughly according to this list:

  • 1 Aging Dust or a few brushes (no samples) = 1 small flat rate box
  • Up to 4 quarts/full size finishes or a few quarts and many samples = 1 medium flat rate box
  • 5 quarts/full size finishes + a few samples, brushes, or other small items = 1 large flat rate box

To get the exact quote, just use the shipping calculator on the cart page after selecting the items you would like.  Simply select your location and postal code and you can see all shipping options, prices, and delivery speeds for the items in your cart.  It works for international purchases, too!

Since we ship by USPS Flat Rate, the shipping cost is based solely on the size of the items purchased, not by weight.  Also, we do not charge a fee for handling, and we receive a volume shipping discount from the USPS which we pass directly on to you.

Do you ship internationally?

Shipping is now implemented to Canada, Australia, Europe, and certain other countries via USPS Flat Rate.  If you live in one of these locations, you may place an order as normal.  If you do not see your country listed as a delivery option (check your address using the shipping calculator on the shopping cart page), please email me at Taylor@DearOlympia.com and we can find the best option for shipping to your location.

We have a currency converter option at the top right hand of the page.  If you don't see your currency as an option, please contact me and we will add it for you.

For international orders, we will ship out within 3 business days.  These take longer to pack due to the additional required paperwork.  Trust us, it's worth it!

What are your refund, exchange and tax policies?

Please note that the info below applies to all orders placed at our online store.

Currently we do not offer returns on online orders.  However, we do offer exchanges for unused products within 14 days of the order date.   You will be charged for the return shipping and also for the re-shipping fee.

If an item arrives damaged, you may contact our store manager at nathan@dearolympia.com for a replacement within 14 days of delivery (in some cases, we will require a photo of the damaged item).

Packages that go missing via USPS will be offered store credit (no refunds) or a replacement after 30 days of no movement via the USPS tracking website.

Please note for international orders we are not responsible for packages that go missing after customs.  With that said, we have shipped without issue to Canada, the UK, and Australia many times.


By purchasing CeCe Caldwell's Paints products and hand painted sign art, you agree to use it for personal use only and not distribute and/or sell it to other persons and/or businesses.  You may, of course, (and please do) use the paint to create your own signs or furniture to sell.

Please remember that color varies on monitors and printers and can never be truly matched.
